I mentioned finding a 99 A8 parts car and scored a few pieces. While I was there, I attempted to pull the glove box out with the idea to grab the latch. As I indicated, it was hotter than hell inside the car and there were bees so I gave up. I'm thinking of going back and trying again.

What tips are there to pull the glove box out? What parts, etc can I scavenge from the latch to fix my wife's 98 in which the box will not open?

how much of a PITA for a 250 lb, old, inflexible guy to lay on his back underneath the dash to accomplish the above retrieval of whatever is needed?
