hello everyone.im back with the maf story if u recall,i had trouble with abs and esp lights coming on.i replaced it with a used unit temporarily till my dealer gets mine (on back order part under warranty). paid $250 for used one and today (with in a week of use) at a traffic light as i accelerated to 6k rpm got the driveline shock and lights came on. had to limp home and at every speed bump car hesitated and switched off(embaracing).btw i fitted my itg panel filter couple of nights back...LOVELY response!i dont think this has anything to do with maf situation as its happened 4 times before. sorry for long post ...please help.

sounds like the tranny went.. did you pull the codes?

hi.no i dont have vag but the gears seem fine in tiptronic mode.btw its a 2001 did they still have tranny probs?... i really am tired of this problem recurring time and time again if u guys could shed more light on this issue. thanks (pls dont scare me bout sayin the trans is gone

it only does it in D? also most of the problem trannys are 97-99 but who knows there could be issues in others. Just like any otehr mechanical part. they do break.. You need a vag seems like it could be a real life saver with the issues you have had so far and will most likely have

guess i'll have to invest in vag. stealer charges too high for diagnosis.you right though any mechanical part can break regardless 97 model or 2001. i did a search and read something about a vacum line. my service advisor said something about it time back so i cannot recall however i'll check it today
