H&R alignment
I went to the dealer yesterday to get an alignment and they asked me for the specs on H&R which I didn't have with me. I just called H&R and they said 1.5-2.25" F and 1.25" R, but I have adjusted the height from factory. Have you guys been asked this before ? The funny thing is I had an alignment done a few months ago when I installed the Eibachs and they never asked me then. It was WAY off and they did it perfectly. I'm not sure what to tell them at this point and might take my chances and leave it as is for my trip. Thoughts ?

It shouldn't matter?? I've had the CQ aligned to factory specs, and to slightly different specs,
never had a problem (it's sitting on adjustable coil-overs).
It shouldn't be any different for your A8. |
What are you guys paying? I got quoted $169.

$185 here

S8 alignment specs are ...
Front:
Camber .. -1.1 deg Caster ..... 3.5 deg Toe ........ 0.3 deg (toe-in) Rear: Camber .. -0.7 deg Toe ........ 0.2 deg (toe-in) You won't be able to change either camber or caster with the A8/S8 suspension. When you lower the car with H&R's, the amount of negative camber will increase, but all you can do is make it the same left-right by shifting the subframe. The last time I had my car aligned, I had front toe set to zero, and some who track their Audi's prefer a little toe-out. Toe-in improves high speed straight line stability, zero toe improves braking and tire wear, toe-out improves turn-in. |
thanks Randy. Paul offered to fax his specs the other day as well and I forgot. This helps.

I corrected a rear toe-in typo ...
I originally had too many zero's, it's 0.02 (not 0.002). Sorry 'bout that.

I'll try and scan this weekend or give me your fax number, I will send over
