Default Having some trouble getting bolt out during control arm replacement.

I can't seem to find an way to get the bolt out that is in the picture. It's the back upper control arm. The spring is right in the way. I couldn't find any posts about it so I think it might be something simple I'm overlooking.

BTW After 5 days of pounding and drilling, I finally got out the bolts that are notorious for being corroded. The whole thing was basically fused together. I think if I had done the whole thing over, I would have taken the whole piece off and used a drill press. It's impossible to drill in a straight line with a cordless in an awkward position.

Default upper control arm.. U should take the shock off and drop the shock housing it is only 3 bolts and

and easy to do.. Makes the job simple then. no need to compress the spring either it all comes out together... the lower curvered control arm is a PITA to get out you have to loosen the motor mount and then pry the sub frame down to take that off.

Default you have to remove the upper subframe assembly (see my pictureposter)

I tried once to get that bolt out with the spring in place - no go. If you are doing the other upper control arm then you have to.

Remove sway bar
bolt end of lower straight arm
remove strut assembly
then remove upper subframe
replace one/both arms on the bench

you can do that for the curved arm but I would cut the bolt instead. Replace it going the other way.

Default Isn't that the bolt that people recommend just cutting off, and replacing with a new

bolt inserted from the opposite direction?

I think the bolt your referring to is on the lower curved arm that is attached to the sub-frame. This one is a different animal.
