Default Headlight leveling warning light

This warning light for the headlight leveling system (in the middle of the instrument cluster) on my 2002 S8 is driving me nuts. I understand that there are two sensors on the car (at the front and back driver side wheels) and they appear to be in good shape. The lights work perfectly. Once in a blue moon I notice that while driving, they would "reset". By "reset", I mean I see them dip down for a second and then right back up to normal operating position. At this point I don't care about looking for the problem (unless you have a good suggestion). All I want is for the stupid warning light to disappear. Pull a fuse? Short some wires? Disable the leveling feature somehow? Please help.

When my leveling sensors went bad, the error would keep popping up randomly. I did some distructive disection of one of the sensors to find out that water intrusion had caused the failure. The reason water got in was because the rubber seal became dry rotted over time. After I replaced the sensors, I make sure that while performing any tire/wheel rotation I give each one a blast of shop air at the pivot point and then to apply a couple drops of WD-40 or other light lubricant to that area. The replacement sensors have lasted for many more miles than the originals. I just rolled over 280K miles FWIW. In addition, without a VAGCOM, I don't believe there is another way to reset or adapt replacement sensors. In addition, I don't believe you can fully disable the headlight leveling system and associated errors without using a VAGCOM. Don't quote me on that infomation because it's been several years since I replaced my sensors and I don't have ELSAWIN nearby to check the factory manual for accuracy.
