Can anyone confirm or deny this? Sounds good for preserving resale, but maybe the W12 will render it obsolete.

Sounds reasonable, since the new A8/S8 probably will be available to replace the current model in 2003.


Anyone who know how the A8L handles compared to the S8? Is sports-packages available for the A8L?
Just teasing my imagination with a A8L W12 biturbo with sports suspension, sports seats, brakes and other handling bits. Would make a serious performance-limmo! No badges of course.

So, what happened to "only 500 cars/600 cars total (I've heard both from multiple dealers) for all of North America FOR THE NEXT TWO YEARS....?

What happens after the two years? Will the new A8 be available in 2003 or will we soldier on with the old model? Is it reasonable to guess that the new S8 won't be available for about a year after the launch of the new car? Why do I love speed? Thanks.

to get all the cool stuff. How about the next gen W12 or a turbo S8 ?

The plan was actually for only one year of N.A. production. Who knows, they may not give us the cars next year. II've heard it both ways. If demand stays high...... Audi doesn't want to dilute the S8 image by having cars lay around on the lot.
