Default Hi to all A8 / S8 lovers

Hi,

I'm new to this forum.

I'm driving a 2001 A8L with a 4.2 since 2004 and now 128000 miles.

So far I'm lucky other then normal wear parts I had never a big problem.

Default Don't Buy a Used A8 Without and Extended Warranty

I have now owned 5 Mercedes, 4 Audis, 2 Porsches, 1 BMW and 1 VW. I would not own a German car today with over 50,000 miles on it without an extended warranty. The cost of replacing (They aren't repaired) the transmission alone on a D2 is about $7000. Owning a mercedes or an Audi is like having a trophy wife. They are fun to operate, not very reliable, horribly expensive to maintain and proud of it.
