HID's
Okay, who here has added after market HID's to there A8? If so, what brand and are you happy the change? I am about to pull the plug on a conversion kit, but what to know which is best and what your thoughts are... Thanks!

I am in a process of buying one off the ebay.
McCoulch ballast with 10000k purple'ish hue HID.
Good thing about this is first plug and play, wires are long enough you can mount in remote location not in the headlight area(which is tight).
Hella ballast are the best. Osram, Philips, Sylvania is also a good choice.
search ebay. You will find good ones. Avoid Non-Brand HID kits.

Buy NOT MORE than 5200K color temperature. (+)
I used korean Eagleye 7000K bulbs for 1.5 year and ballasts from Hella. Quite reliable bulbs, but color temperature too high, too purplish and real visibility no better than good new galogen bulbs.
My opinion now - absolute color temperature limit is 5200K. Anything higher completely useless, because low brightness.
Best of all - 4300K. But difficult to find last ones.

Thank everyone, I just ordered a set from misterjungs. I did end up going with the 7000K lights just to see how they look, it seems misterjungs has a buld swap program in the 1st 30 days. I wanted to match the look of the new Audi's headlamp color. I will see, maybe I will get another set of bulbs that I can swap when I need more light.... Thanks again!
