How many lurkers here?
Every once in a while I see new people posting, and some say they've been watching this board for a year or more.
KMU is a recent addition? that seems very knowlegable regarding repair and others who have posted recently.
We appreciate your posts, speak up? How many of you are out there? I like to talk, but not all the time! ;-)

Re: How many lurkers here?
I have been a lurker here for a couple of years. I have recently registered, in the past couple of weeks. It is only now that I feel qualified to comment on something pertaining to this model. I will be picking up my new to me 1999 A8 by the close of this week. Yahoo. I've wanted one for years!
I would publicly like to thank PaulW, Walter Clark and many of the unsung heroes for making my purchase of this wonderful machine Go without a hitch. Paul, your guide has been an insipartion. I have given it to the mechanic doing the pre-purchase inspection this mornig.
On a side note, this car was Audi Assured at some point. They changed the transmission at 54K miles. It now has 59K miles. I was all set to have the fluid changed until I heard that from the Audi dealer who sold and serviced the car.
Again, thanks to everyone who has contributed to this forum. It gets "newbies" like me involved. Hopefully, I will be able to contribute something worthwhile to the list.

My hand is up.
I tend to lurk more than I post. I have enjoyed the tone and friendly advice and information traded here. I compliment everyone who spends the time to help and to share information. As I have learned when someone posts a problem, it is seldom an isolated issue. I had a check engine light that the dealer and an independant had looked at 3 times. After reading the forum, I took it back to the dealer and told them I wanted them to replace the seal on the fuel sending unit. They took the car and trouble shot the car for 2 hours and replaced the seal. I only paid for the seal replacement. They ate the rest and my proplem was cured.

Been learning a lot from you guys for about 2 mos.
Love driving this car. Not real crazy about doing my own work, but I like the results usually and get queasy anytime I'm near a dealer. Besides, all the contributors to this board take a lot of the worry out of dealing with a bunch of things.
