Okay!! But I am in the market for an Audi A8, just have not decided since there's not one for me to test drive in this area of NC.

Don't test drive one unless you plan on purchasing one- one drive and you'll be hooked!!!!

I lurk a lot more than I post, but then I subscribe to the view that it's better to post information that you're sure about (rather than spread what might be misinformation), and I don't know much!

I am going to borrow a friend's digital camera to up a pic of my car one day though ... might see if I can get a pic of the Simpsons showing on the tv too... ;-)

Default Second that in spades!

I was mildly curious about an A8, before going for a test drive in an 97 S8. After about two minutes, I was hooked - un-f*ing-believable was (I think) how I described it to the sales rep. Within 30 minutes I'd agreed to buy the dealer principal's car, which was up for sale in a few weeks.

Never regretted it for an instant. Came to Audi from a couple of BMWs (and have driven a couple since), and wouldn't go back in a zillion years.

Testimonial: I was planning on buying a TT. Test drove the A8 out of curiosity. Bought the A8!

I am a lurker while I wait to get a '98 A8 with very low mileage from a colleague who plans to get an '04. If he changes his mind, I'll buy a different one: I'm hooked. I thought I admired A8's before but, after reading this forum for the past two months, I can hardly wait to own one.

I already know more about taking care of this car than any I have owned. Ditto that the great advice from all you guys makes me a lot braver and smarter to work on the A8 myself. Thanks.

Default I guess I am a semi lurker . . .

having posted just a few times. On the other hand, I had never owned an Audi til 5 weeks ago when I bought my 2001 S8. To be entirely candid, I didn't know the S8 even existed until 5 weeks ago. As of today, I now own a second Audi (a 2000 A6 Avant for the wife). So I have gone from none to two in a very short time. I know very little about cars and suspect that I will be able to contribute very little. Nonetheless, I enjoy being here and love working my way through some of the technical explanations on the site. So my thanks to the true pros of the forum.
