Info regarding chip tuning.....

Im trying to build more info that we can use for Lemmiwinks and our cars. I contacted a GIAC chip dealer here in Atlanta probing them for info regarding what they changed on the ECU. I knew they wouldnt tell me exactly, but I did get enough info to at least know what they change. Both of these parameters can easily be changed via Lemmiwinks. I posted some starting point parameters a day or so ago. If you have any aftermarket exhaust, intake, etc. you should be able to maximize your gains with a little tweaking.

Correspondence:

I am interested in buying an ECU chip for my Audi A8. I was wondering if you could possibly give me some info on what ECU parameters are changed with the new chip. I figure the only way to squeeze more power out of this engine is to increase the timing and fuel trims. What is the typical timing advance range of your chips? Thanks for the help.

Hi tim.

Thanks for the interest.
You're correct that the timing and fuel maps are adjusted, but to what parameters, GIAC does not reveal they're maps. In fact, they encrypt they're sockets, to keep as many of the other tuners form copyng they're software.
Although the power gians aren't what you might call huge, they are noticable. The throttle responce is increased dramatically, and really taps into the power the car already has. If you feel the upgrade wasn't worth while, you'll jave 30 days to return it for a FULL REFUND. Let us know if you have any other questions or conserns.

Hope their GIAC chips are better than their command of the English language.
