Default Instrument cluster

Got my A8L back and same thing. The backlit lights go dim if my interior is dark. The tech took a differnt A8 for a test and it did the same. Does this mean the old one was not working right? The Audi representitive came to the dealer and explained about the eye pupil, adjustement, dark, bright,.... yeah, it is working as designed. I guess I have to turn my lights on more often.

Default my lights change intensity according to ambient light

I usually notice this near dusk, or early morning... the instrument lights will vary in intensity depending on the ambient light. I haven't characterized it well, but seems they dim a bit if it gets dark... maybe it thinks it's night?
