This whole topic peaked my interest because my all three of my D2's didn't/don't have quite the "punch" that I remember.

This is pic of the intake mechanism off my totaled car. Some of the parts are melted but this would be the equivalent of looking straight at the engine.

The arm on the left should move downward (I made an arrow)and the one on the right should move upward. Only one works here, and none of them work on my other two cars (all 4 frozen).

I grabbed this out of my shed to verify both the direction of travel and see how easily they should move. They should move pretty easily by hand but, with only one movable, I don't have anything to compare it to.

I'll betcha 75% of us are driving around with these non functional.

So, I went out to my car and by hammering down on the left one, got it to move a little bit. I think you probably do need to take the intake off to get it working completely though. I think some of you have been lucky enough to do it on the car. It looks easy enough with pivot point on each end. Perfect time to clean the throttle body too.

Once I get my wife's car back together, I'm going to fix both cars.

Nice Shoes

I will be in New Haven on Wednesday afternoon through Friday afternoon for the seminar.....the only day I could get together is Wednesday evening if you want to meet me.

What exactly does this do?

lol on the shoes, we better pass the hat to get some new Hush Puppies for Bob! ;)

It creates fusion energy

When it's melting on the side of the road....

Actually, the intake manifold is 2-stage (pre facelift) and 3 stage (facelift) to allow for short, medium (facelift) and long intake runners to increase HP and torque of the engine at different RPM's.

nothing right now :)

This exactly supercharges the engine by exactly lengthening or shortening the intake runners ...

... to tune their resonance to the RPM range you are currently in.

If your arms are frozen, either your top end OR your bottom end power will be shot. Depends on which position you are frozen in.

that might work, I'll shoot you an email. Maybe we can go shoe shopping :)

the side effect is that Pearl8's arms aren't really being tested either. I'm fixing mine for sure.

Re: What operates the arms?

Is there some sort of servo or does it fgo by vacuum in the intake?
