Issue w/ self leveling headlamp ( motors)
Hey folks....Thought I was doing a good thing this weekend on my 2000 D2. I disassembled the headlights so I could access and clean the super cloudy projection lense(s). HUGE difference in the beam , much brighter.. However once I re-installed and connected the wiring I'm now getting the warning on the instrument panel display. Bummer because the headlamp motors are not moving now , (as they did previously about 10 seconds after you turn on the Xenons.)
Any suggestions on trouble shooting..? Also ...where the heck are the head light motors located..? Thanks, Dave K |
Don't have a solution, but here's your part location (#12) >>

I'm guessing you changed the home position of the lights and now they are setting a fault against the autoleveling system. Are they pointed all the way down? If you reset them with VAG-COM they should start working again.

Hey,
I had the same issue. I have removed my headlights to fabricate the top plastic mounts that broke, and the previous owner thought it would hold with some silicon..pfff After reassembling them and reconnecting i also go the error in my display... Reading it with my ODB scanner showed a logged error: >4Z7907357 dynamische LWR COD: 00001 For me it was a faulty connection to the bulb. So i suggest you check your connections, clean them, and then i'm sure this will go away. Clean the codes afterwards and it probably will go away. Good luck. |
