Default Jacking and Supporting - mundane but critical

How are you guys jacking and supporting your A8's when pulling your own maintenance? I've got the same issue with the A6 as well. I assume most of you don't have a serious 2- or 4-post frame lift.

I'd like to get all 4 corners in the air. I've got a good floor jack and jack stands. The problem is, if you jack the car using frame lift circles, you can't get a jack stand in there. If you lift at the trunk jack lift points, the frame lift circles are so close that you still can't get a jack stand in there.

My previous cars have generally had a center front and center rear lift point, where you could get the whole end up in the air, and then get jack stands under each side. I wish Audi had done something similar.

So what are you guys doing?

I can't say for sure, but maybe these jc whitney jack saddle gizzmos could provide some jack stand placement options.

Default Every time the tool catalogs come, I drool over those.

Maybe next year, after I've done what I want to do to my "new" A8 this year.

Default Those things have been on backorder for 45 days, supposed to ship 2/26.

Every time I see that banner ad on AudiWorld I mutter and lightly swear at J.C. Whitney.

I don't think I'll need them for the A8, but do think they'll help on the A6.

Default Thanks! I used Griots epoxy...

...after spending a long day wrestling with a cement grinder to get the floor real smooth. It wasnt a garage in its previous incarnation (it was the living room of the small house on our property), so the floor wasnt trowled out like it would have been if for a garage.
