Nothing can be done short term. ...
With China growing like a weed and soaking up crude oil like a sponge, the world supply of crude is very tight. To make matters worse, the U.S. is out of refining capacity; a new refinery hasn't been built here in over 20 years.
The bottom line: We need more oil wells worldwide, and more refining capacity in the U.S. On the bright side, the higher prices will provide incentives for both. Unfortunately, the recently signed "Energy Policy Act of 2005" will waste $billions$ on pork spending while acomplishing neither.

I'm glad you posted that. I've been reading some consumer report stuff and supposedly that they
reported that the newer series IIs were totally redesigned and better, but I believe the real world people. I almost bought one this weekend. I'm glad the price of gas jumped up because I made the call not to buy it because of it.
