Default Keys are easy

Getting keys for the A8 is pretty easy. I bought a couple used transponders off of ebay for $8 each. Then bought 2 key blanks for $10. Then had the local locksmith cut the keys. Marrying them to the car is easy, you can do it youslef in a few minutes.

Is this a '00+ car? How did you program the transponder yourself?

Local keysmith cut the "inside cut" keys?

Default Willl do only and only if they are new, and unprogrammed.

If you take that route to save a couple of $$ then you will have to find a locksmith that can cut it ( not all locksmiths can do that) and then take it to the dealer for "marrying" it to the car. The good thing is that all other keys that were previously married to your car will get a "divorce" from your car and they will not work. Only the ones you have present with you at the "ceremony" will work.

Default That is not a paint code....

....I am not sure what that code is for, but a paint code has this format:

L-Letter-Number-Letter

Just like highlighted code here:
