Not that I'm a big fat hot rod, but can I seriously run with Corvettes, 740's, M series, etc ???

Depends on the situation .. a road course, like an Audi driving school event, or on the open highway ..
Quattro gives you a huge advantage on a road course, and some members here routinely eat up cars that they could not normally "take" in a "straight line".
