Default Leaving for the Track Tomorrow

Blackhawk Farms up on the WI/IL border.....technical track, I think the A8
will just kick *ss!!

Just got done with:

New Pagid Orange pads up front
New Pagid Blue pads in rear (they didn't have Orange)
Fresh ATE brake fluid all around
Track wheels on

Tomorrow before I leave:

Install passenger side Shroth 4 point harness (new)
Replace front breather hose with Autozone hose

I hear my instructor is one of the local Audi guys, he was out on the boat last weekend....I know him pretty well, we're going to kick some butt!

Default If you've never been to Blackhawk, ...

You can use these one-lap SCCA Videos to get at least some feel for the track. With one exception, Blackhawk is a safe track with plenty of run-off. Be careful, though, in the exit of the left-hand Turn 4. It's easy to get in the marbles at the edge of the track, lose traction, and slide into the tirewall :-(

Be safe and have fun!

Default Nice set up. Especially the passenger Schroth. Have a blast!

Does this counter on your dash ever go down below 3? ;-)

Might be wet this Saturday. Good for AWD. Be careful-- not much runoff at 1. 6 catches many who turn in too early and run off past entrance road. Ruts can make re-entry after exit a roll-over incident there.

Blackhawk will test your new brakes too!

Default Here's a view that Turn 4 exit, ...

... not much runoff between the track and tirewall.
