Well, today for the first time my car made a large clunking noise and then dropped into limp mode. Keep in mind it did this just after I ran through the resetting of the throttle position with the ignition on and then taking 30 seconds to run to full throttle and then back again. It ran BEAUTIFULLY for nearly 24 hours with NO noticeable thumping and very little hunting if at all. Then this afternoon, WHAM! I ran the reset again, turned off several times and still it won't work. Of course, I wasn't able to wait for more than 60 seconds, so after work I will know better if the problem is still there.
I will limp home tonight and pull the codes and see what it tells me, I will also attempt to get the filter, gasket and oil tonight so I can start another flush (it has been about 20k or so miles since I did it last). This is SO VERY FRUSTRATING! I just wish Audi and ZF would fess up to this being a major issue!

On the same note, Paul have you or anyone else here used the ZF rebuilt tranny's you mention in Audipages? What do they get for a replacement?

Still on my original tranny, 130K, five track events, auto X and it still thumps!
