Default Low Speed ABS Braking Problem...

I've been experiencing some odd ABS problems lately and wanted to see if anyone else has experienced the same.

When backing out of my garage today, I depressed the brakes to stop the car. The brake pedal shook, the brakes moaned and the ABS warning light came on. The Brake light and hazard warning also came on and stayed lit. I turned the engine off and back on again. All warning lights were cleared and everything was back to normal. Later today, I pulled into a parking spot and the same thing happened.

This only occurs during low speed stops. It happens whether the car is warmed up or not. This has been happeneing off and on over the past month. I have not had any brake or suspension work done lately. The front and rear pads are in great shape, even though my brake pad sensor comes on about once a month.

Any Ideas??

Default electrical connection at the hub?

from the abs sensor, also affecting the pad wear sensor.

can you pull any codes from the car and post them here?

Default Clean the ABS sensors

Pull the wheels off...pull the sensors out....they just pull out....then clean them with brake cleaner....put them back in....you should be all set.

Plus you'll need to pull the codes before hand....it will tell you what is wrong.

Default EscapA8 has a picture.....

Here it is.....just jack the car up, take the wheel off, and pull on it, it pops out. Looks like a piece of metal straw that is capped at the end once it's out....it will probably have a few specs of dirt on it.....then just clean it will brake cleaner and reinsert it, push it all the way back in and you are good to go.

You might need to pull slightly on it with a pair of pliers to get it started.

I would do this on all four wheels, EscapA8 had the same exact problem, we fixed it with $4 of brake cleaner and the time it took to jack up each wheel and clean it (which takes about 4 minutes plus the wheel removal/install time).
