Lower grill pieces on my S8 are missing (stolen?)
I came out of work to my S8 yesterday and found the two lower grill pieces (the ones that surround the foglights) missing. Actually, I noticed that the first one (driver's side) was missing the day before yesterday, and I thought it must have shaken out while driving on a gravel road or something. But then yesterday the other one was gone and I figured it had to be more than a coincidence. I always park in the same place at work, and it's when I'm walking out of work toward the car (from the front) that I notice the grill pieces missing.
Has this happened to anyone else? Is there a big market for S8 lower grill pieces? Is someone planning on taking my (pitted and road-beaten) foglamps?
The missing grill pieces aren't really the worst part...they're probably not real expensive or difficult to replace. The worst part is that it looks like there are a couple of broken-off tabs on the grill surround in the bumper. Here's a photo showing where the broken off pieces of plastic are:

Here's a zoomed-in pic of the side tab:

Here's a zoomed-in pic of the top tab:

Now here's my question:
Does anyone know if those are indeed broken-off tabs, which were previously used to hold on the grill pieces? Or are they just extra bits of broken-looking plastic that everyone has on their bumper? If they're broken tabs, does that mean I'll need to get a new lower bumper, as well, in order to fix my car?
Mean people suck

That sux... I have a passanger side one.
It dosent fit my 97 but i found one on Ocean Ave by the beach last year. If you want i can see if i can find it in my garage and just give me shipping. My friends made fun of me because i spotted this thing from like 250 feet away..

I've lost mine several times, just takes the smallest bit of flex in the lower grill and they pop..
out. Even a fairly small pot hole and I've lost em. I just bought a new one last week in fact $109 out the door from the stealer. The stealer recommended screwing them in to avoid loss, just would hate to lose access to the tow hook if one didn't have a screwdriver with them. As far as the broken looking pieces in your picture I'm not sure on that I can take a peek at mine this weekend.

Suspicious...
Since there are two parts on each side (and the fog surround doesn't come out that easy if you want it to). The grille fixture is/looks a bit pants, but they never fell out here (knock wood).
And what are the chances both of them disappearing?
Looks like the clips are broken, so to me it seems like someone yanked them out with force.

Thanks for the photos. I want to do something like This!

Glass in the grill area, improve the fog lights and add a set of driving lights behind the new custom glass or plexiglass covers.
Sorry to hear of the theft. Hope they just fell off rather than stolen...

Oh, mine has two pieces...

As you can see in this rather poor pic (with broken fog light).
From Mr. Dr's pic it looks like you can see the slot where the fog surround goes, with a flexible bit of plastic (upper corner). That's what's kinda hard to get out... (If you want it to)
I don't know whether this is the same on the one piece surrounds?

Thanks...I'll track this thread for awhile, so whenever you get a chance
to check on the broken pieces, please post. That's the part I'm most concerned about. Well, that and the fact that if somebody took them, there's still a chance that the same somebody will take the replacement pieces.

Oh yeah, by the way...If you happen to run across these grill pieces on eBay
from somebody located in Albuquerque, New Mexico...please don't buy them (and maybe let me know, so I can try to track them down).
