Map disc for old S8
 

Hi guys, what kinda map cd I need to look for audi S8 D2 year 2000? I have concert 1 audio and navigation unit in a trunk.

Which country?

West Europe - Germany, Netherlands, Belgium?

If there is a video on using this system, I'd watch it, or a few minutes of it, but even if I had the DVDs for my car I doubt I'd attempt using it myself. It looks to be far too tedious.

*edit* I managed about 30 seconds of usage after fast forwarding to the 4th minute.

I did not understand what u mean with this video. I need like part no. or maybe some one knows how to write software to disc or something like this.

To demonstrate how tiresome and old the nav system is. Not worth trying to get it working, even to just see it in operation.

Agreed ... I have the full set of CDs (for USA) and a working nav system, but almost never use it, for 2 reasons: 1. Gross over-complication (you can't drive and use at the same time ,,, too tedious) and 2. The CDs use non-updateable maps from 19 years ago.

A $50 WalMart nav unit (or smart phone app) does a better job and WAY easier.

For fun, I sometimes use the GPS coordinate function to find alternate routes or actual distance to known GPS locations ... but as a usable nav unit? Only once, then never again.

So they never been updated in 19 years? :D
I thought if u install to disc new software it may work.

To my knowledge they never updated these read-only CDs past 2002 ... since the inferior system was trashed ( I believe ) after the D2 A8 model.
