Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF now "suitable" for LT 71141 applications - transmission experts please comment
From the data sheet:
Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF is also suitable for use in vehicles that specify the following fluid requirements:
Audi G 052 025-A2, G 052 162-A1
BMW LA2634
Esso LT 71141
I am inclined to think that this "fully synthetic" ATF is superior to the Esso LT 71141. (Exxon-Mobil would know, wouldn't they?)<ul><li><a href="http://www.mobiloil.com/USA-English/MotorOil/Other_Products/Mobil_1_Synthetic_ATF.aspx">Mobil Syn ATF Data Sheet</a></li></ul>

It didn't work too well in my A8
I had the tranny flushed and refilled with Mobil synthetic. The transmission went from bad to worse. So I took it back to my shop and paid to have the lt 71141 put in. Ouch. Car had 110m miles on it and the tranny was acting up already. Ultimately I got it rebuilt and have since replaced the A8 with an S8.

I am using it with no complaints so far...
Been a couple of weeks since I put it in with my VB rebuild. Tozo says he has been using it for years and never had a problem. Good enough for me I guess...
