2001 with just over 91K miles.
I have owned for about 2 and a half years. Picked it up with 78,XXX miles on it.
I am actually thinking about selling the car and moving on to something newer.

2000 A8 40V bought in 2008 with 114K miles, current mileage is 238K miles. I finished changing the 2nd timing belt and components about 20k miles ago.

Update June 2018 : 266K

That's really low mileage for a 97. Nice find.

03 S8 139k I got it last year with 115k (I drive a lot) I change the oil when it's due and I've NEVER had an issue, I did the whole timing chain service when I got it cuz it had not been done. Cars been perfect

2001 S8, Black on black Recaro. Car is on its 2nd transmission (this one properly maintained every 50k) and runs unbelievably strong at 215,500 miles and counting. File full of all repairs, and I'm nearly at 100% with all maintenance. Timing belt has been done twice, at 100k and 199k. 4th owner here.

Plans from now til the end: Repaint rear bumper / Full paint correction / X-pipe and rear muffler delete with new dual slant cut tips / Unitronic tune

Cant wait to bring it to a few shows

It really is. Coming from a pretty tired 2001 A8L before this, and absolutely loving the big body and the way the car drove, i knew the S8 was probably deserving of all the praise i've read them get from their owners. The power is effortless, the ride is so smooth on new tires that it feels new. I took the time to take apart every piece of wood trim inside the car to wrap with carbon fiber vinyl, and that has made such a huge improvement in my opinion to the interior look, much like a true S or RS car should have. After the few other small cosmetic touch ups i have planned, and the exhaust work and tune, i plan on keeping the car forever. So hard to find in clean shape now, and with the mileage this car has, it deserves to be driven into the 300-400+k mile range i hope.

Cant believe how stout these motors are.
