My 300 HP S8
So let's see, I have a suspension somewhat like a S8, have some 245 width tires like the S8, I recoded my transmission to a sport mode (closest thing I could get to a S8), put the chrome tips on the exhaust, and now I have mirrors kinda like the S8.....what do you think?
Now for a brake upgrade....I've never modified a car before in my life, always had nice cars, always worked on them, but never modified them before, I'm having the time of my life! Want to track this darn thing!!!!
BTW, I also got a set of clear corner markers (right behind headlights) without the yellow reflector in them, and going to put in a dual filiment white bulb. They are Bosch and exact fit for the older A8's.....but I do have to remove the headlights to get them in, not really that hard.

Got them from Germany
With the mirror covers. Something like 44 euros each (about $44) plus shipping, etc. Bought a lot of those mirror covers. Guess you could figure out where I'll be selling them. Just look, you'll find them.
Here's a picture of them next to the US spec corner markers, I have one left over from when I trashed my business partner's A8, which is the reason why I have my xenons.....as you can see, they fit exactly. The new ones are Bosch, made in Czech Republic, the orignal ones were made in Germany.
The US spec ones have dual filiment orange bulbs, they fit right in the new ones, I'll just change the bulb to a dual filiment white bulb. Should look cool!

looks great, man!
especially love the suspension. those wheels are nice (one of my favorite OEM wheels), but *man* would that car look sweet on 19's (20's are possible but not practical). i say go for 19's next and make the 17's your winter wheels :-)

Great looking! Mirror caps?
Did you order the mirror caps from Wotan Ag? (http://www.wotan-ag.de/deu/D854K2310.htm)
Are they covers for the old mirror caps, or complete caps that replaces the old painted ones? I have ordered a set myself, but waiting for them to confirm some other pieces too before paying.
What you need now is a set of 19" wheels and some upgraded brakes. And some seats from an S8. And some engine tuning, and some...., you know, it never ends! :-) But your car looks gorgeous now!
I'm probably getting H&R's this winter too. Planning to do it in Germany, while I take the next big service w/cambelt change. These things are a lot cheaper there. H&R's lists at about EUR 1500 in Das Vaterland, about 2700 here. Service with belt change is half the price. Doing it there means a nice trip with all expenses paid and change back.
Have had a repeated wet dream lately, where I happen to stumble over a salvaged W12 A8 who's engine and gearbox in a strange way finds its way under my hood, together with a couple of turbos. Now that would be the ultimate A8 tune up, huh? =;->
