Default My Audi S8 is a lemmon

My ignition switch failed and it took 6 months to get a new one. I have had extremely hard transmission shifting and excessive brake squealing.

Audi refuses to do anything about it. Their customer service is the worst I have ever had to deal with. I am a former new car dealer and general manager having handled luxury lines such as jaguar and Land Rover. I have never witnessed such utter disregard for customer satisfaction. No wonder Audi ranks at the very bottom in JD Power. I am not able to sell this car with these defects and had been very patient and reasonable in my requests.

Had to file a lemon law suit and Audi made and rescinded settlements. Own another Audi for my son, a VW for my daughter and had to buy a Toureag to use as the S8 is not relaible. Other cars are great, the s8 is bad.

Dealer - Joseph Porsche-Audi in Cincinnati has been part of the problem also.

Please email me if you've had similar problems.

Default Im sorry to hear about this, although sub-par Audi dealers

are NOT uncommon. Audi settled with you and changed their mind?

Default Sorry to hear that

S8's do have a problem with breaks in reverse but there is a solution to that that the dealer should address. As for igntion and tranny well that is the first i have heard of in an S8 and i guess it might be a problem.

Default My S8 was a lemon too...

I had a similiar experience with an S8, the car would start for two seconds and die. It's very fustrating and embarrasing to own a $70,000 car and be left for dead. Audi made me a good buy back offer so I took it. Document everything, record phone calls, save letters and service bills, make sure the service writer doesnt leave off anything from the repair orders. Go on the radio, call your local TV station, most media markets have some short of consumer TV or radio segment with a consumer advocate. Here in NY it's "7 on your side" or Tom Martino the Trouble Shooter. Bone up on the lemon law in your state. Know your rights. Spread the word, the new A8 is a disaster too, people should know. Good luck, fight back and I feel your pain.

Ohio's lemon law link
