Need advice on audi A8 purchase
I am looking at a '98 A8 w/ 87k miles. It had two owners and all maintenance is documented - including 85k service with the timing belt, all fluids and plugs replaced - also has new tires. Really, I can't see that it needs anything. Exterior and interior are flawless. Everything works. I can buy it for $13k. I am a bit concerned with the miles - and I am sure repairs are expensive. Does this seem like a fair price for this car? Will it give me years of service? I guess I am a bit afraid of owning a car that sold for $70,000 new. Any advise would be appreciated!
Thanks
David

I'd say pretty good deal, especially since the timing belt was replaced.
Make sure the transmission fluid and filter were done...
Also check here of course:<ul><li><a href="http://www.audipages.com/usedA8.html">http://www.audipages.com/usedA8.html</a</li></ul>

Was only the timing belt replaced? Or was there a complete job done?
This is a key question. When that maintenance is done, there's a lot more that should be replaced, than just the timing belt.
The car may still be a good deal, but you need to realize that you may have to go back into the front end sooner rather than later.<ul><li><a href="http://www.audipages.com/Tech_Articles/enginemechanical/tbparts.html">Parts Required for a Timing Belt Job</a></li></ul>
