need help with the car
couple minutes ago i trie staring my car and it would not start. the radio worked lights and everything. i think it might bee alternater but i dont know i used jumper cables to start the car and it started right up. can someone help me could it be the v belt i just got home so i guess i will see tommorow if it starts or not.the battery sighn didnt come on or anything not even when i pressed the check button can someone give advice how to find the problem thankss.

Check to see if the car is charging the battery
It should be at least 13 VDC on the battery with the car running. If it is, sounds like an old and tired battery on a cold day.

Yep- if you jumped your car and then drove some distance home.....
the alternator is OK (that's what powered the car on the drive home) and the battery is likely bad. First check the cable connections to the battery, and if they are good, replace the battery.

well i jus got the car in november of 06 so i dont really know anything about cause it didnt have any info all i know the tires have been changed, i recently changed the belt, some hoses, oil and expansion tank i just hope its not the alternator it was pretty cold last nite but so were the other nights tanks for info guys

problem solved
so i went to autozone and had the battery checked and it was acually a bad battery so i bought a duralast battery for 60 buck and had it intalled(which was a pain in the ***)and the car works fine and starts right up. thanks for your help guys
