Default In need pictures of 40v intake manifold...

... both my intake manifold adjusters are jammed and I need to disassemble and hopefully repair. I was wondering if any one had any pictures or bentley manual drawing showing the 40v intake manifold.

Thanks.

Default Nothing too difficult. You just need to undo the top bolts and anything that

might get in the way. Then you can just separate the two halves of the manifold. And FWIW, I ended up gutting my manifold when one of my assemblies froze. I removed the actuators/arms, then I pulled out the internal components and plugged the holes in the front. The only issue I've noticed is a small power loss (which I was expecting.)

Default The Bentley doesn't have a nice exploded view

for the 40V, only the 32V (which isn't that great either). Here's the best picture they have:

Default What was the exact internal failure mode?

I currently have a 40V with one side stuck open and one stuck shut, and am awaiting gaskets in the mail. Curious what I will find. Is the default mode torque/long runners if you take parts out?

How can Audi design a low-stress part like this that poops out internally? Did they spec a cheap plastic? Certainly the doghouse itself (seems to be magnesium)is not a cheap part.

Long runners. You essentially create an open cavity by removing the internals.
