Default Re: OMG yes I have had most of the issues that the A8 has but I love the car

HA! tell me about it!! my younger brother decided to put the rear passenger headrest all the way up before i had the chance to tell him there is a gremlin in there that doesn't let it come back down... so i gotta fix that now. e-brake either needs to be replaced or adjusted; it does not work at all... passenger lower ball joint and driver upper outer tierod end need replacing... possibly a leaky valve cover gasket needs to go... need new armrest mounts; drivers headlamp is cracked (still in working condition, though). i'm gonna be busy for a while.. but yes, this is a car that makes you want her more and more although she is spoiled as hell...

so far so good... i had a 96 A6fwd and it shifted beautifully... the only thing my 8 does now is it has the slightest little buck when downshifting naturally w/o brakes... i think it's from gears 3 to 2 but it's very intermittent... so i'm gonna baby the tranny while i still have a good one..!

Default yep I had to fix the head rest (easy fix thank god) next is the door switches and locks..

The control arms are not too bad to change. Except the lower rear curved one. It can be a PITA... I also replaced the windsheild to non insulated so I can use the radar detector and cell phone.. Damn stone broke it... I also did some upgrades such as the tip shifter, blitz safe so I can use my mp3 player, bilsten shocks and springs, 18" wheels.. My car has been back to the tranny shop for the past 2 months to replace the Torque convertor, I hope to get it back today or at least this week. I forgot what she looked like. In the past 12 months I have had the car off the road, in a shop or me working on it a total of 6 months. So I hope after this last time I can enjoy it for the rest of this year at least. I have also been thinking about selling it and getting a newer a8l or s8.. Still debating that one. The wife is getting jealous because I spend so much time and money on this car.... She just wants me to sell it and get something more reliable. HUMMM after I sell my Saab in the next few months ( I hope) I will have to see.. I always had a back up car just in case but that option will soon be gone..
