New D2 S8 Owner in NorCal
Here's a few pics of my newly acquired '02 S8. It's a 105K mile car that I bought from a buddy who's had it for 2 years or so.
I've got a set of 18x8.5 VMR wheels on order to replace the curbed and worn stockers, I should have them on within the next 2 weeks.
I do need to change the valve cover gaskets, I downloaded the PDF and it doesn't look to be too difficult to tackle at home. I can change the spark plugs at the same time. Any advice on that job would be appreciated.
Are there any other D2 owners in NorCal?
Thanks,
Sean L.

A good source (the people I used) for the gasket set >>

Great price & top quality...Quick, free shipping...plus a few extras you may use down the road.
On the job: You'll find a couple of torx bolts hard to get to...I used just the torx bit (socket) held with a small crescent wrench to get these off and re-tightened.
P.S. It's important not to over-torque the valve cover bolts (just 10nm)...tighter is more likely to cause leaks later.

Road King, that's a beautiful car. I love that silver color on the D2's. Mine is the Pearlescent White ( that isn't very pearlescent). I'm here in Sacramento, with 2 Audi's in the stable. This is a great forum here, with a wealth of information and helpful members.

Thanks, I've got a new set of 18" wheels on the way. The forum seems a bit slow (esp. compared to the Subie and Harley Forums) but I'm glad to be here. My buddy is still crying the blues and thinks I stole the car from him!
