The old saying holds true, Show me a cheap Audi and I'll show you an expensive Audi.

Dam, that sux... It's going to cost alot to save.

Regarding the condition of it. The carfax says that it was well maintained until 2011 when a 19 year old kid bought it at 133k miles. Then from there on in it was downhill. Then it sat unused outside from 2015-2017. 2015 may have been when the engine disintegrated.

Well still looking into options...

Be aware, I don't think you can swap S8 cams into A8 heads. I remember reading a long time ago that the heads have extra machining to allow them to accept the higher lift S8 cams.

Sucks about the engine.

You could move the intake over to the A8 and just run that long block. It would probably make 320ish hp. Lots cheaper and easier than finding an S8 long block.

UPDATE: I just found a running S8 engine for sale if anyone wants to buy it and put it in this car...

Also, Coincidentally, I was at a car show this weekend and saw a 2002 S8 at the gas station across the street getting gas. Wow, what an awesome car....

...and where is that thread? Sort of useless info without a link.

Better yet, find any dealer or supplier on the planet that has or can get a new engine for a 2001 - 2003 S8 ... or even a new block ...

...we won't be holding our breath while you look.

I don't know that an A8 engine can communicate with S8 electronics.
