A bit more explanation of where the leak is coming from(or appearing on your garage floor or driveway) would be helpful.

Visually FIND the leak ... whatever it takes ... don't just throw gaskets at the engine.

Cam sensor seals are a common leak point too... SilverD2 is right, you pretty much have to eyeball it, then attack from there. you are sure it's engine oil?

Yes it is engine oil. Mechanic said it was leaking from oil pan gasket so he replaced it but it still leaks from somewhere else.

Check all your CV boots, crankshaft, camshaft, oil pump seals. Mine leak's only when its running, if thats tthe case it's probably camshaft seals.

It's easy to find the source of oil leaks with UV dye and a UV flashlight is inexpensive off Ebay or Amazon. You just need to see the fresh dye come out, you can't add it and drive around for a week.

You've currently posted in the D2 forum "A8 / S8 (D2 Platform) Discussion Discussion forum for the D2 Audi A8 and S8 produced from 1994-2002"
There would be better info from the correct forum but I think your timing set is at the back of the engine and the oil pump is at the front?
