Oil Leak from Pressure Switch or ???
My 1998 A8 Quattro is leaking oil like a sieve. The oil is coming down the oil filter housing. Is it possible for the oil pressure switch to leak this badly? Or is it more like a port from the oil cooler? Coolant levels are fine. No other apparent leaks.
I can't spot the leak without taking everything apart. Hoping someone knows of a common problem here. |
Oil pressure switch. Remover air box to access.

Well, it's a cheap enough part. I'll give it a shot. Thanks for the reply and suggestion

I've observed the same situation from mine 1995 A8 D2. Cheap part, but seems to me quite a difficult to change?

is there oil any higher than that? mine is leaking from the cam seals on the front side of the engine. oil runs down between the timing cover backing plate and the block, down the head across the oil cooler.
I'm due for a TB service so I'll tackle it then. |
It was definitely the oil pressure switch. Very easy to fix after removing the air filter box.

Seems to be a common situation, at least for the early 12V 2,8 (AAH). :) |
