I live in Toledo,Ohio and as I posted a week or so ago I seem to be losing reverse in my 2000 A8L.It slips. I called every transmission shop in town and although nearly everyone said they can work on it.They do not know what a Vag-com is. So needless to say I'm worried. I don't want to go to the stealer for a complete replacement swap($ 7k-8k) I would prefer to have this one rebuilt. I need some recommendations from any of you that have had one rebuilt...I have no problem shipping the car within 400 miles in order to get it done right.( Chicago,Detroit, ect..) I just want it done right and as inexpensively (don't mean cheap)as possible. Any help would be appreciated.

No way I'd hand it to some Aamco dude who says he can work on it, but doesn't know a VAG-COM from a torque wrench.

Call Bob at "The Shop" 225 W.Alexis - 478-4600 - Though he may not want to do the swap he'll have good advice.
