Default Phat Box

Hey

Anyone have a Phat box in their A8? You see them on Ebay quite often for $169. They are described as new, they must have been a flop overall as they seam to be a little cheaper than they were when sold through the dealers. Thinking about picking one up, feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks

Default iPod has taken the wind out of their sails, that's why they're so cheap.

A good deal at that price, especially if it includes a cable.

Default Love mine- much more user friendly than an I-Pod install....

because you can use your existing radio controls (including steering wheel controls) to use it, and it has voice feedback for surfing through genres, artists, etc. The only advantage (a big one, agreed) that an I-Pod has is that you can take it with you out of the car.

Default I have one in my S8. My only complaint is 20GB fills too quickly...

Default Initially overpriced, now a bargain. Seamless integration...

...with your headunit. I enjoy having it, although I get a periodic 'disconnect' problem that is rectified when I remove and reconnect the I/O cable. Service manager told me he's had similar problems w/ a few clients; haven't figured out. My feeling is it's related to high temperatures in TX (no kidding! the problem started when we hit June/July last year. Pops up in the summer months, goes away in colder temps.)

Nice to have in the trunk with no wires hanging in or out the glovebox or wherever..

I got it last yr for $399, so at this price I'd get with no more than a second's consideration!!

Default Easy installation. Love it! Closing in on 2K songs loaded.

Worth the price at $169.

Default Love mine...

I paid a lot more than that and I'm glad I did! Well, at least I've listened to mine a lot in the year I've owned it. I don't think I've heard anyone say they regret getting one.
