Phatbox sale? ...or not??
I got a curious mailing from Audi yesterday that said "save an additional $200 off our sale price of $699 for a Phatbox" and had a link to the online Audi store. By my math, that should be $499 for an Audi Phatbox, which would be a very good deal indeed. But when I followed the link, there was no mention of any "additional $200 off" on the web site.
Anyone else get the mailing? I was just curious, as I already bought my Phatbox and love it. I just wanted mention it here for other folks who haven't bought it yet.

Order now for an additional $200 off the sale

You can directly add more aux sources than you would ever know what to do with.
It is relatively simple to do and they will all be directly run through the cd changer input with no loss of sound quality. Does Audi offer an oem XM or Sirius setup? If not, the station info would be displayed on the separate control unit of the aftermarket unit.
Basically, the Audi phatbox directly replaces the oem changer. Once that is done you would use PaulW's old procedure (the soundggate.com docking station will work also) for adding an Ipod to the stock setup while keeping the oem changer, except for this application, the Phatbox replaces the changer and left and right RCA's will replace the 1/8" phono plug used for the Ipod. Once you have the extra RCA's you can switch between an unlimited number of sources.
The sequence goes like this. Put the stock radio in cd chgr mode and hit a small switch to allow the extra input to be seen instead of the Phatbox. Then you can hit another switch to allow you to toggle between the multiple aux sources. For example, you can toggle between XM, Sirius, the audio from a DVD player, Playstation, XBox and anything else you may ever need.

Pauls procedure
