After 3 days this is what I have and I am no even close to being done. I sanded all the way down to bare metal so no finish was left at all. So imagine a block of sanded aluminum. then buff and buff and sand and buff and wet sand and buff and buff anyway you get he idea. But is is staring to come around. Looks like chrome. Not sure if I like that look or maybe a brushed look better. What do you guys think. Should I polish to a chrome finish or go with a brushed look and then clear coat? But as you can tell from this picture compared to my picture in my sig they are much more chrome (polished looking). If I remove the clear coat on the wheels I can just polish the wheels and no need to take down to the bare metal so the polishing will be much easier and should be only a few hours compared to a week of work... Been there, done that, in the end quit and just repainted... LOL. Good luck!

brushed it in a circular pattern while the wheel was moving. Like a giant lathe.

are buffing. I don't think I will ever get all the scratches out, even the buffing compound scratches. I might take my time and wet sand again and buff, but I am also going to take another wheel and just remove the clear with paint remover and buff and see how it look. If all else fails, I can do the brush finish. The brush finish is a nice look.

Try getting one of those drill buffers, or Dremel buffing discs... Automate it a little bit....

For only $125 a wheel I had an outfit in Texas pick them up restore them to OEM look and return them (I live in KC).

Every month or two i have to spend about an hour repolishing them, and they still dont look as perfect as the day i finished them (small scratches and stuff) and the rain and stuff this time of year makes them hazy and stuff.
