Poll #1: Problem tranny

My '99 D3 had the drop in/out in 4th/5th gear at around 51K...had dealer
do tranny service ( still don't believe they did it the PaulW way and ended up with not enough fluid ), took back to dealer with similar issues, AoA assisted in tranny replacement since it was just outside of 50K warranty period. Got credit for Tranny service $450 and tranny replacement cost me $2200. Traded it in Feb '04 for D3 for a TI value of $20K.

1997/A8 4.2/103K (F&F @91K) DSL - Umm, is there a pattern here??- 97!!
Don't know problem yet box due to come out next week, but suspected 'Toasted Clutch'.

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/81409/110_1021.jpg"></center><p>I'm getting the clunk at times on slowdown, seems to hunt from 1st to 2nd most of the time. Only had it 3 months-had dealer flush it and replace filter last month. Mostly drive on base at 25mph. After 10 hours on trip to Texas-tranny really paused on shifting after tollbooth.

98 A8 72k - Wrong gear ratio, feels like sticking in 2nd and 3rd gear at same time - goes into limp.
Changed fluid to Mobil 1 (didn't have filter yet) and awas PERFECT for ~ 60 miles, then acted up slightly (not near as bad). Went into limp mode however. Should have filter in a few days and will update. Trans: DTE
