YES! Had to use my BMW jack on friend's A4
 

Same thing happened, jack must've fallen forward at least 3 times before I decided (brain trust that I am) to stop using the jack and use the one in my BMW. Worked perfectly first time. Each time the car came down, the rotor smashed into the ground. Can't believe it didn't break. Now I have an A6 and will be getting a floor jack ASAP.
