I have a 2000 A6 4.2 and the power steering wheel will only go in and out, it will not go up or down, the button on the side of the wheel is ALWAYS in the on position so when I turn the car off and take the key out the steering wheel retracts and when I put the key in the steering wheel comes out and adjust back to the memory setting, I am the only one who drives my car so I know the settings have not been changed, I then turned the memory settings off and tried to adjust it manually and it still will not go up and down, only in and out. I don't think it is the motor because if the motor was gone, it should not work at all, that is my guess, have anyone seen this problem before ?
I have checked that button on the side VERY good, turned it on and off, on and off
