Primary Muffler Bypass Valve?

Primary Muffler Bypass Valve?
I was looking at a buddy's custom Impala. He installed a bypass valve that diverts the exhaust from the cats and mufflers. Just pull a lever and it bypasses, push it back in and its normal exhaust again in the blink of an eye.
Has anyone thought about doing this on their A8?
The part costs right around $60.00 and doesnt look to be very hard to install.

I put one of these on my 91 maxima years back.. nifty toy
Made a huge difference in sound, also made a difference in power. I would say at least 15 hp. Just by reving it up from redline you can see a difference.

Re: you mean from stock to straight pipes? Yes
Its a Y shaped cast iron pipe splitter with a simple shutoff valve that you weld or clamp inline to the exhaust.
Pull the lever on your dash and it is louder than all holy hell, push the lever back in and your back to stock exhaust. Pretty neat trick for under $100 bucks installed.
I cant find a picture of it, I will take a picture of his when I look at it again.
