Purchase opinions on 2000 A8...

This is my first time in the A8 forum...go easy on me!

My dad is interested in a 2000 A8 at a local used car dealer. At first inspection, car looks spotless, with 58,000 miles. Dealer is asking $28.8K.

Thoughts? What should I tell him to be wary of on this vintage?

If it is an Audi/VW dealer, have them have the car assured for the price and it will be a deal!

It's a local independent...specializes in high-end European stuff.

That's not a bad price, I paid $32,000 for a 2000 w/ audi warranty.
