Recommendation for Ultra/Max Performance Summer tires?
Between Goodyear F1-GSD3 (or whatever the designation is), ContiSportContact3, Michellin Pilot Sport PS2, Pirelli PZero.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Skip the goodyears...
I just replaced with RE960's. The Goodyear's were very noisy to the point of frustration. I really recommend the Bridgestone Potenza Re960 which is an all season performance tire...great reviews on tirerack.com and so far the reviews seem well deserved!

He's not asking about All-Season at all
Of course the "ultra" summer performance tires were noisier than half-assed all-season tires. All-Seasons are designed to generate the least complaints from people who wouldn't know a minivan from a Maserati; not to perform well, or be better than "oh well it gets the job done kind-of."
The Goodyear F1s have lasted me 3 seasons now, and I can recommend them heartily. If you realize that going Summer Only/Ultra means less ride comfort and more performance then you wont have complaints.

Add Bridgestone RE050 and delete Michelin PS2 from the list.
I was very pleased with the now discontinued Bridgestone S-03, great on track and reasonably long wearing. The RE050 replaced the S-03, but I thought I'd try the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 ... big mistake. Regardless of tire pressure, the sidewalls rollover on track, resulting in a dangerous wear pattern and poor handling; and on the street, they last half as long as the S-03. The RE050 will probably be my next summer tire.

Re: Recommendation for Ultra/Max Performance Summer tires?
I had the Goodyears on mu UrS6 and they were great much better than any tire I had tried to date. The chassis "came alive" for the first time and I then knew how well the car could handle. The tire wore well and were not loud even at mid life. After the current summers wear out, I will be trying the Goodyears again.
