Repair manuals on CD - Newbie questions
Hello all,
I was wondering if someone could answer a couple questions from a newbie.
1) I am interested in purchasing a repair manual for my 97 A8Q on CD. I had thought there were 2 choices, the "Bentley" repair manual, and the "Official Audi Factory" repair manual ($99). Andy on the D3 forum has enlightened me on that one (they are the same manual).
2) From prior experience with Porsche manuals, there are always copies of the workshop manuals on CD available on ebay. Is there any such animal on ebay for the A8?
3) Does someone here wish to sell their manuals, or a copy there of? Perhaps one who has upgraded to a D3?
4) Is there a parts identification program similar to Porsche's P.E.T. available? PET is easily found, and invaluable to any repairs/restoration.
Thanks in advance,
Mike

Re: Repair manuals on CD - Newbie questions
1. Answered yourself ;-)
2. I'm not aware of any.
3. ????
4. Yes- It's called ETKA and can be found on eBay.
Note: The Bentley manual is invaluable, however Bentley publishing and their software activation is a ROYAL pain in the a$$!!! Customer service isn't worth much either.

Don't pay US$99!!!!
Look around, you may find it even cheaper than US$65!

Re: The Bentley copy protection scheme
You can make a copy of the Bentley CD, it'll work just fine, and then you can sell or give away the original. Unfortunately, the Bentley's eBahn software requires "activation", and it can't be activated on a 2nd PC.
