replacing the key shell... now remote key won't work.
i had 2 original remote keys for 2002 audi a8 d2.
both worked great, but i decided to replace the shell of one of them.
i was able to remove the electronic board and the transponder and put them inside the new shell.
but it doesn't work. i can't figure out how to program it again.
any tips?

Are you needing to program the remote buttons to lock/unlock?

the car does start with the new key and the transponder, but the unlock/lock/trunk doesnt work.
before i relocated the transponder, when i place the batteries in, the car sounds the alarm, so something is working.

Unlock the driver's door with the key and then press a button on the remote. That should allow the remote lock/unlock to work again. If not, check the remote battery.
Your issue kinda sounds like there is a button stuck down on the remote and that can cause the panic to sound and will drain the battery.

the new one is not responsive at all. i did what you told me about unlocking and pressing a button.
i think i may have ruined the board when i was taking it out of its old shell. i had a hard time removing the 2 circular gold colored screws that were holding the board down.
is there a way i can fix such things?
