Just on a hunch, I agree with silverd2 in that your problem is probably with the torque converter, because it happens all the time in D. I can only think of one clutch that's engaged throughout D.
My problem is most likely with the front suspension (control arm on the passenger side that may not be 100%) that causes mixed feedback to the transmission on bumpy ascends (which is not uncommon in France, and during which it's hard to maintain a steady throttle position; cruise control also helps with this problem). The hesitation is alternate up-down shifting.
Before changing the torque converter, however, I would check the control unit first. If the transmission works fine in Tiptronic, I tend to believe it's an electrical problem.

But all in all... I got the car with 150k miles on it... 4,700 dollars... Exterior and interior is as close to flawless as it can get minus a little leather wear.

Well, it is in the shop today.
I am having them check the electrical system, change all the fluids in the car, run a full diagnostic, and change my car from Celsius to Ferinheight lol.
Hope it doesn't end up too spendy and is all fixed by tomorrow! Will keep everyone updated!
Thanks for the help so far.

It is a 3,400 dollar fix!!
Just about what I payed for the car lmfao.
Anyone know how hard it is to replace?
Or anywhere I can go to kind of learn how to tear apart and fix my car? :/

The cheapest place to learn is on the web. Google "ZF 5hp24a" and you'll find some links to pictorial/tutorials.
