S8: 2001 vs 2002 vs 2003
 

What are your opinions?

Transmission, S Drive, what else? I want to buy something that will last and won't have many huge problems. Obviously i need to do my research on the individual car, but does the year really matter?

I always try to go for the "newest" car, but that's just me. In some cases that can
 

turn out to be a bad decision. Take A6's for example: My 2000 has a lot of goodies that the later cars don't have (pre-wiring for a CD changer, better rear seat, etc.) Seems like Audi makes cutbacks to save money, once a new model/design has been established.

IIRC....2003 has fold in side mirrors

My 2001 has that also. The 2003 is a 2002 (the last produced batch). From half 2003 onwards it's D3

03: power folding mirrors, on star, different HU, etc
