How often do you really need a back seat? Never. When people visit places, they usually have their own cars, or rental cars, or have drivers, or have places to be that make it easier for them to hail a cab than it would be for you to drive them. A used 456GT, used DB7, 500E in great condition, these are the real competitors to an S8 if it were priced at $100,000 with custom interior work, luggage, and so forth included.

There are plenty of people who, if the stock price moved fifteen points and the car were available, would put an S8 and a TT225Q on order instead of a 996 Turbo.

Our back seats have held more saddles than people.
